Work In Progress:
Five Line Gallery→ is an independent artist space that I began in 2016 located in the L.A. Weekly classified ad section. The on-going program of weekly exhibitions consists of a solo work no greater than five lines of text (or approximately 125 characters). Situated amongst a landscape of prostitution, marijuana, and questionable legal practice, Five Line Gallery aims to take art out of the “white cube” placing it directly in the vein of vernacular culture.
Along with managing the weekly ads, this project involved creating all ephemera attached to a typical art gallery. These materials include an identity system, weekly poster promoting the artist, gallery catalog, and series of 2-color silkscreen prints of each ad.
